New types of Armour
Ive been considering spending alot of Plat getting fow Gladiators set, but at present im unsure. With all the new types of armour coming soon in Factions, i maybe need the 100 armour more often than Gladiators or the Health boost from the Beserkers set. Just looking for some opinions on what people think of the new armours? what do you think is the most effective? will you be sticking with your prophecies armour over the new armour? (don't turn this into a flame thread about fow lol), Thanks.

Perhaps waiting until factions comes out would be best. Because getting yourself confused over armor when we don't know the full range available and their stats would be prudent.

I think people will stick with what they have for the moment, until we can get all the info on all the new armor. I don't believe that we saw everything during the FPE weekend. I know the Prima Guide for Factions comes out April 25th, 3 days before the game release; maybe more info on armor will be included in that...

Well IMO.... The new armor sucks....
Glads>Beserker... I'll take an energy boost over health when it comes to armor!
Sentinal.... well everyone seems like they love this.... maybe for certain farming builds but the fact I HAVE TO have strength at 12 or higher makes this armor VERY limited
Legionarre ~best "new" armor available
IMO Best armor Set
Helm 15k Ascolon or 15k Plate depending on build
Chest 15k Glads
Hands 15k Glads
Legs 15k Glads
Feet 15k Ascolon
I still believe the Glads+Ascolon(or knights) will be the BEST armor combo choice for a warrior.... The Sentinel may be good for certain builds... but with a lack of storage I like my armor sets to be universal with different helms for different builds... The only thing for my warrior I might buy from factions will be a helm... depending on what the Legionare looks like... I think the beserker helm makes you look like a penis... or mushroom... and the sentinel makes you look like... well...IMO... an idiot... lol.. Well... maybe the weapon helms like in prophecies(bucket helms) will be nice looking for a change

With maxed Strength Dolyak Sig and Sentinel Armor, you can be tanking with 142 AL - all the time.

"Watch Yourself" + Defy Pain + Sentinel armor (@13str) = 140AL with no speed reduction...
hmmm...i wonder how much dmg an aataxe would do if you had "Watch Yourself"(+20) + Defy Pain(+24) + Sentinel armor ([email protected]) + Dolyak([email protected]) = 186AL...you could also put on defensive/disciplined stance (+24AL) after you have the rest of the skills up and get to 210AL...
hell, a w/e could throw on Armor of Earth as well...that would put you at least at 234AL...
granted, with Dolyak, defensive/disciplined stance, and Armor of Earth, you would be moving ungodly slow, but if you just wanna stand there and take a helluva beating without going down, Sentinels could be fun...

i agree with pbspectre but i think u can make a build around nay one of the new armors and have a good warrior so it really matters what build u want to use on ur warrior

If you use stances, Legionare's armor will be better for the majority of tanking. It's 100 vs all, or 110 vs Phys, 90 vs non-phys. With a nearly full (Knight's boots, +1 weapon helm) set of Legionare's, you could make do without "Watch Yourself!" on a solo-spider run.
